A house for a determined couple

How to make a house form the outside and a villa for the inside?
With a first kid on a way, a determined young couple decided to build their new home for their expanding family. They choose a place at the outskirts of a small town where on a gentle grassy slope with a south orientation, a new suburban settlement just started to form.
It was not an easy process with many back and forth. And it took a great amount of listening and understanding each other. But at the end, we managed to design a home that is neutral and simple shaped from outside and intriguing from inside.
Spacious, high ceiling ground floor seamlessly stretches to the outside through full height panoramic walls. Above it, kids’ rooms are ‘hanging’ from the roof. They are connected with a uniquely shaped open ceiling that forms a perfect fantasy playground that is ‘floating’ in the air.
The main program of the house is complemented with a spacious guest room on the northeast as well as with a library / studio on the southwest – both featuring its own terraces.
Unfortunately, during the construction process, clients unilateraly decided upon some mayor design changes to which I strongly opposed. Consequently, the intended architectural expression of the house has been irreversibly compromised and I simply can not identify myself with a project any more. That is why, although built, the project ended amongst the concepts.
Nevertheless I do hope, that all the effort I put into the design process has not gone to waste and that a house would prove to be a pleasant, healthy and happy home for the family.
